1. Scenic Skating.

London has a spectacular array of ice rinks to choose from this Christmas. Each has itsn dramatic back-drop and so it’s up to you which of these landmarks you want to gracefully glide around in front of. The Natural History Museum, Somerset House, the Tower of London and Hampton Court Palace all offer their own majestic settings for skating. Each is also equipped with its own rink-side refreshment station should you work up a thirst on the ice. Skylight and Bar Elba have quite literally raised the game with their rooftop skating experiences giving you the London skyline as a backdrop. If we had to choose one it’d have to be Somerset House. Their night skating programme combined with the rink-side Baileys treat bar is the festive combo you didn’t even know you were looking for.

2. It’s The Most Wand-erful Time of Year!

If it’s magic you’re after this Christmas then where better to go than the best School of Witchcraft and Wizardry money can buy. Hogwarts in the Snow, at Warner Bros. Studio – The Making of Harry Potter is definitely the most magical place to be this Christmas. Warner Bros. have brought back the fan favourite festive spectacle by draping the studio in a cloak of snow and Christmas decorations. The Great Hall is decked accordingly and the tables laid with a festive feast complete with flaming Christmas puddings. Throughout the studio special-effect fires roar in the fireplaces, Christmas trees line the halls and the Gryffindor common room is filled with Christmas treats for all to enjoy.

3. Festive Films in an Enchanted Forest.

Not a Harry Potter fan? That’s alright, there’s some festive magic out there for you too. How about a magical wardrobe that leads to an enchanted forest? Yes, seriously. At Backyard Cinema’s Winter Night Garden you’ll be welcomed through their Narnia-esque entrance into their immersive cinema experience. Watching all your favourite Christmas movies (Elf, Love Actually, The Holiday, Home Alone and more) in an enchanted forest complete with a cast of magical creatures is sure to get any scrooge feeling festive.
