Curve launches Greece

Καλημέρα! Kalíméra! Good Day! 

Good news everybody. Curve is available in Greece again 🇬🇷🎉

In May 2018, Curve was temporarily prevented from providing our services to the residents of Greece. As a result, we were required to immediately stop processing all card orders to Greece and unfortunately had to temporarily block the accounts of all customers in Greece. 

The reason for this was the capital controls that were being imposed in Greece, which restricted the amount of funds that could be withdrawn from banks. 

At the time the controls we had on the Curve card didn’t comply with the capital control withdrawal restrictions.  Our customers were able to bypass the capital controls to withdraw more money than was permitted. 

Our respective Operations and Compliance teams have been diligently monitoring the situation closely to ensure that we were ready to resume operations in Greece should the circumstances change. 

We have contacted all customers who have signed up to Curve from Greece, advising them on how to reactivate their accounts. If the email was missed, the following steps will help customers get up and running again. 

I have a Curve prepaid card

If your card doesn’t have ‘debit’ written on the front or a hologramme on the back – you have one of our old prepaid cards. These cards were discontinued and replaced with debit cards, which means they can no longer be used. 

All you need to do is contact Curve via the app or support@curve.app, confirm your shipping address (plus your old one if it’s changed since you signed up) and your date of birth. We’ll then send you a replacement card within 7 working days.

I have a Curve debit card 

If you still have your Curve debit card, all you need to do is unlock it the app and you can start using it again straight away! (Please check that you have the latest version of the Curve app installed before you unlock your card.)

If you no longer have your Curve card, we can send you a replacement. 

All you need to do is contact Curve via the app or support@curve.app, confirm your shipping address (plus your old one if it’s changed since you signed up) and your date of birth. We’ll then send you a replacement card within 7 working days. 

I tried to sign up but couldn’t order a card

If you tried to join Curve but couldn’t complete your order or were blocked after entering your email address, you can now finish signing up through the Curve app. 

You’ll need to be using the latest available version of the app and sign in using the same email address that you used when trying to sign up.
